"Giving Our Veterans An Opportunity To Live Again"

VBTRF works hand in hand with Ranch Life for Legends & Heroes.
We are two separate Veteran groups with the same goal. We see the value of connecting Veterans with horses & allowing them to learn the cowboy lifestyle. Ranch Life opens their gates to us & allows us to work together as a team. Ranch Life owns the horses, the cattle & has access to the pasture. We(VBTRF) help fund the horse program that allows all of our events to take place. VBTRF puts on monthly Family Day events with sponsored lunches that brings Veterans, First Responders & their families together to share the love of horses. Every Sunday we organize a beautiful opening flag ceremony on horseback at Legends & Heroes arena during their weekly fundraisers. We honor our Nation, the different military branches & our sponsors. The ceremony is not only organized by Veterans, but the flags are primarily carried by Veterans & First Responders from the Horsemanship program put on at Ranch Life. The two organizations work together at events & programs go hand in hand.

Simply put, we put Veterans first.

We take their competitive spirit, survival instincts and military skills and transfer them to the back of a horse with the goal of teaching them to ride and enter the world of team roping. Our program allows our combat Veterans the opportunity to ride, interact with horses, work with cattle on horseback, learn the mechanics of team roping and participate in team roping events. The program serves as a therapeutic means of dealing with their combat injuries and recovery process and at the same time experience a challenging physical activity, competitive goals and boost to their self-esteem, morale and healthy outlook on life. The results have been astounding. Through the horsemanship program, the Veterans have discovered that it is OK to live again and many of them are starting to move on with their lives.
